Who doesn't love Costco?!
COSTCO *heart eyes*
I know, I know, it is only Spencer, Maverick and I. Who shops at Costco unless you have a small basketball team on your hands? WE DO!!! Let's be honest here...WHO THE CRAP DOESN'T WANT TO?! You walk in with your very own ID...saying "yes I belong here," you push your cart through the sales sections casually adding $10 extra goodies you don't need, see amazing deals on those hanging pots *ooooh yes, I won't kill these* The amount of produce knocks you over because you soon realize how hungry you are so you plan on stopping to grab yourself a $1.50 hot dog and pepsi on your way out, isles and isles of anything and everything you could imagine...its honestly magical.
We got some big peppers, artichokes, avocados and our most favorite salad ever, its like a cranberry poppy seed one and its delicious!
kitty litter
We love Costco! We have tried shopping exclusively at Walmart and Winco, but we find we are always running back to the store and spending more money than necessary because your girl and her fam here love to snack. *insert sassy girl emoji
Today I will be sharing our grocery haul. For our family it makes sense to buy specific groceries and supplies there. For example, we love meat. I for one, am a meat snob due to the fact that I was blessed enough to grow up eating beef from our backyard. I find that Costco has the best deals for meat and most organic groceries. Therefor when we go, those are always the first on our list. The next, might sound a little ridiculous, but then again if you have ever been around during movie time you would...SNACKS!! We always buy chips and snacks at Costco because we go through snacks like no bodies business around here... our family is so bad even our animals have become snackers! We all get hangry so it is best for everyone involved that we shop the snack selection via Costco.
We like to get our diapers and wipes there as well. We always buy kirkland because it is the best price and good quality. I totally get it, there may be cheaper diapers out there, but I know I would like something soft and fluffy on my butt instead of itchy and scratchy. Same goes for the wipes... and Lord knows sometimes there is no toilet paper around...win, win for all!
Animals...oh our sweet non human babies. We get literally everything for them there. Beds, treats, food, toys...ect. Well, I guess I should clarify... our babies who like, can ride inside the truck. Any chickens, horses, cows, goats...future farm babes all will be shopped for at the local feed store down the mountain.
Prescriptions, Allergy meds and protein powder, all from Costco!! I have been drinking the same protein for the last 5 years and I have tried other ones... tons of other ones and it is my absolute fave! Its worth the thirty bucks!
Now, we definitely don't do all our shopping at Costco because again we are a family of three, so we usually just get the things that will last us a month and then the smaller things like butter, buns, eggs, potatoes...all that kind of stuff we don't need in bulk we will shop at our local grocery store.
Without further ado our Costco haul:
Maverick is in size 5 for diapers. These wipes and Dipes will last us a month.
We always buy the unfrozen chicken, depending on the budget sometimes we are able to grab the organic, their chicken is great quality! We also bought some bacon. The chicken will last us about three weeks and the bacon a month. We just put any extra meat in the freezer until we are ready to use it.

We got some big peppers, artichokes, avocados and our most favorite salad ever, its like a cranberry poppy seed one and its delicious!
some hummus...I'm just a little too excited about it haha
Of course who doesn't grab muffins while at Costco? Maverick and Spencer like the poppy seed and chocolate. We have decided recently to keep sugary snacks at a max for our sweet little boy, not because he is on a diet, but because we have noticed he is becoming dependent on them...NO BUENO! So we grabbed some veggie straws for a quick snack, but for the most part we have tons of fruit, veggies and other home made baked goods he can chow down on!
A little side note: I combine the chocolate and poppy seed muffins in one container to leave out and then individually wrap each muffin in the other container and put it in the freezer so they don't go bad and if we were to take them as a snack we could grab a frozen one that morning and it would be thawed out within 30 mins.
We love these frozen berries for a snack and smoothies, bananas are always a must!!
I picked up these for my lunches, or quick dinner. I love these lentils they are so good and you pop them in the microwave for sixty seconds. They had $4 dollars off the lentils and $3 off the rice.
shredded cheese...nachos after church anyone?!
We bought two cases of water
And for our freezer sections we got some pizza for the boys and my gluten free Udi's bread. This bread is awesome because there are two loafs and I keep them in the freezer because I usually have toast so I just pop it in the toaster, but if I am planning on eating sandwiches one week then I keep one loaf in the fridge and one in the freezer.
Here is our meal plan:

In case you were wondering because I would be... these specific item below will last us a month:
-Veggie straws $6.59
-Bacon $13.99
-Orgain protein powder $29.99
-Frozen berries $8.99
-Gluten free bread $9.89
-Cheese $13.59
- Cat litter $13.59
-Wipes $18.99 (they last longer than a month)
-Diapers $35.99
All other groceries are for this week.
For the groceries lasting us a month it comes to a grand total of $138.02 divide that by 4 equals $34.51 per week when divided out for the month! We like to keep all groceries including dog food and diapers ect. under $130, so taking 34$ out a week gives us a budget of $95 dollars to spend each week. Makes grocery shopping so much easier given the fact we are already covered for snacks, meat, protein, cheese, animals, wipes and dipes!
