Welcome all the foodies!!
Hi, Hello, WELCOME!
If you have been following me on Instagram for a while now, then you should know food is the way to my heart...well and all the animals. Besides the point, but I really do love all the animals probably a little too much and if you ask me I have an abnormal amount of children...only one has actual feet.
You didn't come to this page for that special little fact I just gave you, no. You are here because YOU are a foodie too! We love foodies around here and appreciate those of us who can eat a whole tub of ice cream and feel pretty darn good about it before the guilt. Guilt sucks, I wouldn't have any if my body would just love all the food I love, but it never works out that way and so I have learned a new way of eating and cooking. Now I love my food and my body loves my food and I have no guilt. Zero guilt? Yup, I just said that. I have zero guilt and I still eat all the amazing comfort foods. They may be a little different from maybe the ones you are thinking of, but I think they might even be better!
I have created this blog to help share the foods that I can eat and feel like it "hit the spot." To help and share some ideas on how to make the food we love, love us back. For example, I make myself a chocolate shake everyday. That's correct, I eat a chocolate shake for breakfast and I feel amazing after I do so.
I have recently lost 63 pounds, if you are wondering how I have a blog post I can link here:
https://kayleenmcmillan.blogspot.com/2019/04/65-pounds-gone-forever.html
Like I have said before, food is everything to me and after gaining ninety pounds during my pregnancy with my son I had to relearn how to provide the foods that give my body the energy I need, while tasting amazing, satisfying cravings and helping me to stay on track to lose the rest of my remaining weight.
I struggle with eating when I am sad, bored, happy and feeling snacky. I also struggle with bloating, swelling and gaining weight extremely easy. Some of it has to do with the hormones that make up my body and genetics, but I believe one hundred and ten percent that what we fuel out bodies with can have a huge impact on our physical and mental health.
If you are finding yourself in a similar boat, feeling guilt, sluggish, or just want to make a change I have some recipes that I love and am willing to share in hopes to touch the hearts of other foodies out there!
It isn't easy, It is not fast, but with time, trusting the process and loving your journey it all comes together!
